From the cold darkness of the night
A wounded Angel came to me
Her wings are broken, her spirit's pierced
Her smooth, bronze skin is scarred I see
But one day she'll be free again
A wish that burns in her eyes
To release herself from the shackles of this world
And fly away to crimson skies
But how can a mortal help an Angel?
What can I do to ease her pain?
While those questions were tearing my mind
She sadly looked the stars in vain
Then she fell into my arms
I felt her body shaking like a leaf
Tears were running down her face
Her gaze faded in endless grief
Then I touched her face, and she looked at me
In my mind I heard a thousand silent cries
Gracious and sad, I closed in my head
And softly kissed her eyes
A smile replaced sadness and grief
Her body was healed, her wings were whole again
In that precious moment when she regained her strength
I felt tender pain as my life was slipping away
Now the Angel stands alone
Under crimson sky
Looking at the lifeless body
Never asking why
She looks up, spreads her wings
Beautiful and selfish, now she flies
Down below, in the cold darkness of night
Lies a man with tears in his eyes
2. Tears Of Regret
A seldom fair struggle between the strong and weak
Even absolute beginners are playing hide and seek
Chasing on each other in a race of love and hate
A race that never ends until time says it's too late
Then these killers of emotions now aware of their crime
Desperately try to catch a small moment in time
They live to suffer and feed on someone else's sorrow
Their souls are empty, their minds are hollow
Seeking love and happiness but their hearts are cold as stone
They build themselves a cage where they'll end up alone
Then they scream from their cage, praying for release
But the time has now run out and they'll never find their peace
Again
So they stand alone, scarred for all time
Pale, lost souls without a word to say
The game ends in silent agony
Tears of regret that fall can't wash the pain away
3. The Gray Waste
The sky is gray, the sun is black
Another day for me in this empty no-place
My life will soon fade from this cursed shell
And now that my soul is out of trace
Regret is the only thing that I can feel
An endless suffering makes this wasteland so real
Forbidden, soon forgotten, I wander alone
On the colorless horizon I see a familiar sight
Rays of pure light are dancing in the night
Glimmering silhouette now stands before me
In Her hands She holds a small, dark sphere
Vision flashes from a time long gone
End of my quest is now so near
My soul is Yours, it is obvious to see
Everything I am now belongs to Thee
4. The Emperor`s Curse
Have I seen too much of this world?
No
But I think I've seen enough
And what I saw I don't like
Servus : From the top of the mountain
He is watching his frozen field
Harvesters of sorrow
Are doing well their jobs indeed
Servus : Obviously satisfied He turns his look
But I see no happiness on his face
He walks slowly to his throne
A ruler of dark, forsaken place
Servus : My Lord, is there something wrong?
Haven't all your orders been fulfilled?
Haven't all your enemies been destroyed
And their bodies buried deep in the silt?
Emperor : No, Servus, nothing's wrong
Except the certainty of my fate
The fate that I have chosen
Since there was no choice to be made
Emperor : We live our lives in a game
That someone else has made
We must play by their rules
Until our purpose begins to fade
Emperor : So you see
It is my destiny
To watch the end of days
Emperor : So far you have served me well
But if you could make a choice
Then what would you rather be?

7. Darkness
In a cold room, where time stands still
Sleeps a frozen soul, a misshapen thing
Tiny spears of sunlight broke through the darkness
And impaled the eyes of this strange being
He awakes from his slumber, opens his eyes
Nervous and tired he shakes his head
To avoid the rays of pure light
He slowly painfully leaves his bed
Now that his sleep was broken
A flame of memories began to spread
And with them came a vortex of pain
That played havoc inside his head
Pain unbearable, an endless moment
Vortex commands him to recall
He twists in agony stumbles through the door
Into the unknown, until his fall
Lying down on the ground
Too confused to look around
Forgotten memories are struggling
To get out
He manages to lock them up
To somehow keep them at bay
Vortex is slowing down
Pain and agony are fading away
He glances at this strange world
There's something unpleasantly familiar around
Utter darkness chills him to the bone
Light is now too far behind
He looks behind into the warm light
Somehow he prefers this chilling mess
With heavy thoughts upon his mind
He steps deeper into the darkness
Now he is recognizing many different shapes
He knew them once in his former life
They made him feel calm and relaxed
Peaces of lost memory folded without strife
Then darkness assumes its form
A great hall of memories built upon his past
For the first time after countless years
He felt joy and tranquility at last
But a warning came from out of nowhere
A mute presence somewhere in his hall
He turns around and faces his fear
A grotesque creature standing tall
Uglier than himself, huge and disgusting
It stares at him with its yellow eyes
A dreadful monstrosity shrouded in chaos
Stabs his soul with thousand knives
Forbidden memories crushed their prison
Disappointments, sorrow and fatal mistakes
Although silent, the creature talks much
A living dream vision of a forgotten past
There is no fear pain or sorrow
There's only strength, destruction and rage
And they all found one target
A monstrous hideous visage

As I gazed in disbelief
Into the remains
